A neat little affordable automatic juicer we ran across recently is the oster citrus juicer 3186 it is a nice little juicer you can use if you are on a budget and aren’t looking to juice on a daily basis. We are going to take a look at this juicer and see if it is worth the investment for new comers into juicing!
Oster Citrus Juicer Review: 3186
One of the cool unique features we noticed of this unit was the reverse- action motor in the machine which allows for an enhanced juice extraction. This allows for quite, quick and smooth operation for those of you who are looking to quietly juice a fresh cup of orange juice in the morning while everyone else is fast asleep. If we compare this to other automatic juicers which are about twenty bucks more than this little guy we will notice that unit has 20 watts while many other units quite profoundly have around 60 watts of power. Now that is a huge difference and can be quite an issue of concern for anyone who is looking to juice orange juice effectively. Despite the low wattage on the machine we did notice the juicing was done quite smoothly and efficiently all though the power did not match up to the bran citromatic juicer which is only a few bucks more and provides a whopping 60 watts of juicing. However despite the fact of that the juicing of a regular sized small orange or lemon actually went by quite smooth. Considering this is a fully electric juicer you don’t have to worry at all about tiring out your wrists or your hands while juicing and this is definitely a positive aspect for those of you who don’t want to exert any energy what so ever while juicing.
Now obviously when you look at the design of the juicer it is really nothing special, just your average electric juicer made up of plastic. This obviously is nothing in comparison to a more higher end commercial juicer in terms of looks or functions but it gets the job done for the price range and for what it claims to do. What is great about the oster citrus juicer is the fact that it has a pulp and seed separator which quite commonly is not found on electric juicers which are under a fifty bucks. This feature is very rare and really made this electric orange juicer stand out to us. The pitcher holds a total of 27 ounces of juicer and is completely detachable which provides a generous handle and a fine drip free spout which allows for easy and smooth seamless serving for family and friends. The size of the juicer is nice and compact so it makes it really easy to store and clean.
Lets take a look at some of the pros and cons real quick to see if this is worth your investment!
- Quite and quick juicing for an electric juicer, equipped with reverse action the motor allows for an enhanced juice extraction.
- Pulp and seed separator which allows for pulp free juice for people who do not like pulp.
- A juice level indicator letting you know how much juice the electric juicer has produced.
- Small and compact design for easy storing and washing as well as safe usage for the whole family.
- Additional Product Benefits
- Bland design.
We were actually quite surprised by how well this citrus juicer preformed in comparison to more expensive models on the market in the electric juicer market. In fact we have to admit, all though the wattage on this model is low it actually juice and preformed better than the braun juicer and did a much better job in producing juice efficiently. Especially if your looking for a juicer that is fully electric and does not require any effort on your part other than buying oranges and cleaning this might be the perfect buy for you. This makes a great juicer for beginners who are getting into orange juicing and are looking to juice part time. Also another important feature which we thought many readers might find amusing is the fact the base does not move at all while juicing. For a small unit this is really quite amazing.
