The latest and greatest thing in health and fitness are juicers. Juicers have been around forever, but only recently have we discovered the power of them and learned how to get the most out of them.
Large-capacity Pulp Collector: The JE98XL has a unique pulp collector unlike any other I’ve seen. It can hold tons of pulp, making maintenance easier and less frequent. You don’t have to stop and clean it after every few fruits; it can be used for large loads of fruits and veggies without clogging or breaking. Of course, you should still clean it after every juicing session, and this just makes it so there is no maintenance while you are juicing.
Easy Clean-up: After you dump or store the pulp, cleaning this juicer is super easy. Almost all parts of this juicer can be washed on the top shelf of your dishwasher. It also comes with an included brush, which is super helpful when it comes to getting those hard to reach places, especially if you do not have a dishwasher. Everything except for the Nutri Disk and the food pusher is safe for the dishwasher top shelf.
Extra Wide Feed Chute: Breville has included its patented 3-inch food shoot on the JE98XL. At first this doesn’t sound very big, but once you see other juicers, you realize just how big it is. With most other juicers, you have to dice the fruits and vegetables into pretty small pieces, but this juicer can handle large chunks of food, whole apples in fact. This greatly reduces the cutting and prep time that is required. Sure, there are fruits and vegetables wider than 3 inches, but when it comes to those, all you need is a few quick cuts and then you can juice it.
Dual Speed: The JE98XL has two-speed settings to maximize the juicing. The high setting allows the motor to run at 12,000 RPM and the low setting is 6,500 RPM. This allows you to juice a variety of foods, both hard and soft. Harder foods such as apples and beats are juiced best using the high-speed setting, whereas softer foods such as kale, kiwi, and spinach are juiced better using the low-speed setting. This juicer can juice pretty much anything without getting clogged, leaking, or leaving any chunks or pulp in your juice.
When I first got my juicer, I expected it to be really hard to put together, loud, hard to use, and ineffective. Right after unboxing, I set it up in less than 10 minutes. It is a very simple and intuitive process, especially using the instructions. Once it was all set up, I decided to test some of the manufacturers’ claims. I stuck an entire apple in the food chute and it juiced it, no problem.
Next, I cut a whole pineapple into just a few large pieces and left the rind on to see what the juicer can do. It juiced the entire pineapple in a matter of seconds. I immediately fell in love with this juicer and I was a total beginner when I got it. I think I ended up juicing fruits and vegetables all day the first day I got it. I may have overdone it a little bit; I actually thought I broke it. But after reading the manual I realized the machine shut off by itself since I overloaded it.
When the machine senses that the juicer is overloaded, rather than overheating, it automatically shuts off. It is super easy to use as well, all you have to do is plug it in and flip the switch to either low or high as you push the food in. During this whole process, it is pretty quiet. It isn’t like one of those super loud blenders that will wake up everyone in the house.
I also noticed the safety locking arm, which makes it so the juicer will not cut on without being locked in place, which is nice to know with kids running around the house. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is just getting into juicing since it is super effective and very inexpensive.
When you purchase this juicer, you get the juicer, the user manual, a limited one year warranty, and a cleaning brush. You have everything you need to start juicing except the fruits and vegetables themselves.
